Corrections & Updates
Why this page exists
We publish scores. A score is a claim, and claims can be wrong — a vendor changes its pricing, a compliance certification lapses, a source we relied on turns out to be inaccurate, or we simply make a mistake. What separates independent research from marketing is not that it never errs, but that it says so when it does.
How to report an error
Send it through the contact form with the page, the specific claim, and — where you have one — the source that contradicts it. Vendors are welcome to submit corrections about their own products; doing so carries no influence over placement or score beyond the accuracy of the underlying fact.
We aim to acknowledge reports within five business days.
What happens next
- We verify independently. A correction is only made once we can confirm it against a source we would have accepted during the original research — vendor documentation, a trust center, a filing, or an independent review platform. A vendor asserting something is not, on its own, evidence.
- Factual errors are fixed and marked. When a change alters a stated fact, we update the page and note what changed and when.
- Score changes are recorded. If a correction moves a score or a rank, the ranking records the previous value, the new value, and the reason. Scores do not change silently.
- Typos and formatting are fixed without a note. Repairing a broken link or a misspelling changes no claim, so it earns no entry.
What we will not do
- Remove or soften an accurate finding because a vendor objects to it.
- Change a score in exchange for payment, advertising, partnership, or access.
- Quietly revise a published ranking without recording that it changed.
Scheduled review
Rankings are re-reviewed as the categories move, independently of whether anyone reports a problem. A correction can be triggered by our own re-checking as easily as by a reader.
